It all started when…
we decided that it was time to fill the house with little paws again. In the past, we had two Shih Tzus, Lois and Clark, who we loved dearly and had for nearly 15 years. After being “indoor dogless” for a few years, we realized how much we missed having little dogs follow us around and snuggle with on the couch after a long day. I did a lot of talking to friends and researching different breeds. While Lois and Clark were troopers and did all kinds of ‘outdoorsy” things with us, this time we were looking for a breed that was a little more hardy to outside activities and could handle running around on the property while we tended to the farm chores. The other requirement was that they had to be hypoallergenic because I am allergic to dogs and we are just not fans of a lot of dog hair in the house.
After checking into a few different breeds, the Mini-Aussiedoodle (or Mini Aussiepoo) was brought to my attention. BAM! They were the perfect fit for us! Plenty of energy and sturdy enough to handle themselves around the farm yet small and loving enough to curl up at the end of the day with us. Of course, the curly non-shedding hair was a clincher!
Our dogs are part of our family and involved in all of the daily activities. They do not stay in crates or kennels all day but they are crate trained as a crate isn’t a punishment but a safe comfortable place for them to relax. We have converted a building on our property into the “cave.” It has lot of beds, toys, food and water, access to outside, etc. They can come and go as they please.
The Gentleman
Oliver is a Black Tuxedo F1 Mini Aussiedoodle. He has energy beyond energy and loves to play! As you can see from the pictures, our dogs are not always groomed as they play too hard to constantly keep them ship shape! I wanted to have a few pictures where you can see how incredibly curly his hair really is even though we usually keep it rather short due to our lifestyle. I do prefer it to be long and curly though. It is so adorable! Best part….he does not shed at all. Oliver’s health tests have come back clear and he is is a strong, sturdy fellow. Oliver has his own page here if you would like to learn more about him and see additional pictures.
The Ladies
Kiwi is the epitome of velcro dog. If we are sitting, she is on your lap, shoulder, arm, head or whatever else she can place herself on in order to be touching us. She doesn’t have separation anxiety at all….she just likes to be near when we are still. She enjoys running around outside but doesn’t ever go far. Kiwi is also incredibly submissive and full of love! When she gets excited (which is frequently) she has the funniest wiggle butt that just makes one chuckle. Kiwi is a beautiful F1 Blue Merle Toy Aussiedoodle with gorgeous blue eyes and incredibly curly hair which does not shed. Her health tests also have come back clear. Visit Kiwi’s page to learn more about her and her litters and see more pictures!
Paprika is a Chocolate Tuxedo F1 Mini Aussiedoodle with wavy hair and very minimal shedding. The white trim of her coat adds to her color uniqueness. This gal has it all: brains, beauty, and loads of love to share. She comes from health tested parents and she has passed her health tests too! You can read more about Paprika, see more pictures of her and her past puppies by clicking here.
Noodle is also an F1 Mini Aussidoodle. She is very laid back and extremely submissive! Noodle loves to snuggle and gently asks for attention from humans and dogs alike. She is a Covid puppy so she is a little shy around strangers still, but we are working on that with her. She has these amazing hazel/amber eyes that compliment her light red merle (almost cream colored) coat. Noodle has passed her health tests. You can read more about Noodle, see more pictures of her and her past puppies by clicking here.
Tater is the newest addition to our F1 Mini Aussiedoodle line up! Fun fact: she is Paprika’s younger sister. She is always ready to play with whoever is up for it even our giant LGDs. She keeps up with the gang even when they are 5x her size. Man, this dog can jump! Tater has a beautiful wavy red merle coat and has one blue eye and one eye that is half blue and half hazel. She has passed her health tests with flying colors. Have I mentioned she loves boxes??? Visit Tater’s page to learn more about her and her litters.
